7pm – Every Wednesday
As the daylight starts to dwindle, we start to deal with the realization that Summer is coming to a close. GOOD! Cooler tempatures equals faster times.
We welcomed a good group of runners this evening. With a nice mix of regulars and newbies, and ages ranging from 10 to the 10 at heart.
Our group consisted of 38 runners, with Tim Short finishing first with a time of 17:39. Crystal Anthony finished tops for Women, posting a 19:35. We had seven new runners this week bringing some new flavor and personality, and if I am not mistaken a little friendly rivalry to the fun run.
First Timers:
Keith Levesque 21:38
Tim Lewis 25:22
Andrea Ferri 27:50
Natasha Coyne 27:54
Colleen Napoli 30:32
Mason Nalipinski 38:18
Quanah Lawarence 38:19
The excitment this week would have to be in the 10 year old category. Mason Nalipinski and Quanah Lawrence put on an impressive show for us finishing a mere one second apart. After the run I sensed there may be a little running rivalry in the making. We’ll have to see how this one evolves.
A quick note before closing, shorter days equals less daylight. So think safety. A reflective running vest, a blinking light, a headlamp, olympic torch, a jar of fire flies. Some of these things are good options to consider running with, I leave it up to you to decide which suits you best.
Thanks to all.
We had a great run last night with 32 runners. The weather was perfect and the crowd was a pleasure.
David Long came in first this week with a pretty speedy time of 18:32. Chris Soucy came in second a time of 19:06. Annie Rose Willis was our first female this week with a time of 19:20. James DeLuca, very close behind with a time of 19:23 taking fourth place. Will Keefe, literally on James tail in fifth with a time of 19:24. We have some new PR’s this week. As always the group lucked out with partly cloudy skies and not to hot.
