You guys are TAPPED! Hey maybe next week we can all roll around in a big pile of broken glass first, and THEN go dodge cars in the dark…in the cold…in the snow…in the ice.
I feel the above picture sums up last evenings running conditions pretty nicely.
That being said, anyone can run when it’s nice out, it’s easy. I feel it takes REAL conditions to bring out REAL runners. I was lucky enough to share the company of 14 REAL runners last night. The only thing I thought I would being keeping time of last evening was elapsed time that occurs from the top of my pint glass to the bottom. Then at around 6:40 Greg Esbit walks in, and I’m like “well there’s One” I guess ones good. So for all you so called regulars who were on the fence, and leaned a little too far towards the couch and flat-screen, you missed a really good night. We changed it up a little bit under the suggestion “I believe” of Sir Liam Brady, and for the first time ran the course in reverse. From the feedback that was voiced, it went pretty good. No one fell, and no one got hit by cars.
There was a really good energy in the air after the run, as the steam eminated of the finishers like smoke from a candle. It served as a visual confirmation that something really good just happened, something was earned, there was a payoff. I often here people talking about having to catch there breath, tonight I feel however it was breath that struggled to catch you.
So in closing, I wish to thank you all once again for making all of this happen, it makes all the beer I drink on Wednesday nights so much more easily justifiable to myself (which of course, is the most the important thing in the world ever).
Good Evening.
