Smear on the COOL. It ALWAYS goes on good. On these cold winter runs, it’s very easy to end up with chapped lips, and chapped lips equals no kissey-kissey. I know we put a lot of emphasis on reflective clothing and car dodging. Your safety is priority ONE with us here at the D5K. Sometimes however we overlook the small things, like the safety of your skin. Luckily for us there’s Danny Chick. He really cares about the safety of peoples lips. So much so, tat after the run He gave in impromptu clinic on the Various ways one can go about the applying a chap stick or any lip balm of your choice to your little flappers.

The clinic was nothing if not informative, with lots of examples, scenarios, coloring areas, and subtle word plays. So if you care about your lips as much as Danny Chick cares about your lips, then next time you see him ask for a ” quick? ” how to.

Oh yah, we also had a run tonight too. 17 runners braved the elements to ring in a strong start to the first D5K of 2009. It was a great cast of characters. Our run is nothing if not colorful, it’s like the Brady Bunch in tight spandex…and sweaty.

Top Honors for Male and Female runners goes to our 2 current record holders.

Doug Chick through down a 19:42.

Crystal Anthony plowed through the snow to a 22:34.

On a side note. Best of luck to the D5K regulars that are down in Florida kickin some ass at the

Disney 1/2 and Full Marathon.

T.R. Ramsdell and Kevin Counihan I know for sure are down there, if you run here, and are down there, and I didn’t say good luck. Sorry. I must not have been listening when you told me about it, we can armwrestle over it when you get back. Good Luck to ALL.
