So I convinced TR to drive down to Malden since I knew it was a small race and that he had a good chance of placing. Although he is still recovering from pneumonia, he did well — placing third in his age group and twelfth overall in the 5k.
I ran the 10k — about 2 minutes slower than last year, but it was a beautiful day and, best of all, I was close to pain free.

UPDATE: Turns out this was a looong 5k… actually 3.36 miles instead of 3.1. That means TR ran a 6:49 pace instead of the 7:23 pace! Good job, TR!
