Fun, fun, fun. Run, run, run. Both were in abundence this evening. So the first person I see tonight is Danny Chick, and after a friendly hello, he tells me to get ready for a new course record. Apparently Danny had brought down a “Ringer” We’ll see, is the obvious inner response going off in my head, and see I did. Another member of the Chick family, Doug chick certainly did set a new course record. With a 17:05, which is seven seconds faster than the previous record, that stood for probably a whopping two weeks. Also this was Doug Chicks first run with us, not a bad way to start.
We had 4 First Time runners, and an impressive 8 Personal Records that made up the 36 runners that showed up and let it all hang out in the name of Good Health…and of course Ice cold pints of BEER. Hooray for Beer.
Our First Timers:
Doug Chick 17:05

We had some old faces show back up to run with us this week. Jared Keohane swaggered back in this week, and did not forget to bring his sparkling confident personality with him. Jen Howland is back on the boards this week. She has been a real trooper in dealing with an annoying injury that just kept lingering around like the creepy guy at the party.
I must make mention of JOHN BOSSE. For those of you who do not know John, he is the guy who is always smiling, and emits positive energy. Well young Johnathan wanted change. Sounds easy enough a request, change, we change all the time, our minds, our attitudes, or socks…with any luck. This change however is different. John wanted Life change, he, like so many others longed to see “what was out there” wanted to try, see, do, taste, NEW. This is a longing that resides inside of most of us, the unfortunate truth is, most of us never act on it. Contentment prevails.
John decided to act on his desire, rising above the comforts of routine and putting the unknown, both within himself and of the real world to the test. In this simple decision lies the seed of all success, and with that knowledge of self John has already succeeded.
So on behalf of myself and the D5K, we wish John all the best, and thank you for adding your great personality to the fabric of the Danvers 5K Fun Run.
I will not subject any of you to my rambling thoughts for very much longer, that is of course to assume anyone is still reading this at this point. We have a great crowd, you are a great crowd, I will use this last paragraph to single out one among us for a little spotlight time.
“MIKE COLE” oh yah buddy, your the MAN, and everybody should know it. I have a special D5K sticker just for you. “We are all about the LOVE”
