It wasn’t enough for Liam Brady to start-up our incredibly successful Danvers 5k Fun Run. Now he’s organized the Stone Tower Trail Run Challenge, a 15k and 5k trail race taking place this weekend in Lynn.
More from Liam:
I was halfway through one of my long Sunday morning training runs when I spotted the flyer that told of the Stone Tower Restoration project. A large portion of the funding had been acquired by the FLW (Friends of Lynn Woods), but more was needed to complete work on this majestic tower. It is located on Lynn’s highest hill in the Lynn Woods Reservation, and was once open to visitors, offering scenic views of the woods and the surrounding area.
I had in the past ascended the spiral stairs towards the roof, climbing over missing stairs, living just a little dangerously. But the access has long been closed for the protection of the public, and now, with a little help from our friends, can be restored and reopened.
This is where you can be helpful and participate towards this goal.
On Sunday, October 26, come join your fellow runners and walkers to benefit this cause.
